( TREE OF MEMORIES )
[ This place isn't anywhere that Riku has been before, though he's heard of it, somewhat. It's basically a tree that holds petals of memories from all those who come near it... or who inhabit the island... one of the two? Maybe both? Regardless, he's here, feeling the need to just get out and away from everything and everyone and he's made sure to keep himself relatively bundled up lest he end up sick again.

When a breeze gently drifts by, crisp and cool and allowing strands of silver to blow around his face, Riku catches sight of a drifting petal that falls from the tree and, perhaps without even realizing so, he holds his hand out and allows the petal to land in his palm.

The memory that it contains is one that seems almost ironic considering current circumstances of people within his life. It's distorted, perhaps a bit scratchy in a way, but it shows a sleeping Sora encased in what looks like a bubble. Standing outside that bubble and staring to the sleeping Sora is Riku, dressed in black and donning the blindfold much as he still does within this world. Off to the side, Naminé is there, sitting at a long table and seemingly sketching in a book, though she doesn't seem to address Riku within the memory. Gently, he reaches out with a gloved hand and presses it to the front of the bubble and the strongest emotion that can be felt even with watching this memory unfold... is grief.

It figures this memory would show itself now of all times and, to be honest, he almost finds it funny, as if a silent punishment personally dished out for him. Well-played, Tree of Memories.

Riku, of course, tries to brush off the memory and any feelings that might be attached to it. Though one can't exactly deny that the air around him seems a lot more chillier than anywhere else near the tree. ]

( IT'S RAINING, IT'S POURING )
[ What had started out as something that should have taken maybe ten minutes at most has turned into a good thirty minutes standing outside the tea shop in the pouring rain.

The weather hasn't been the greatest as of late and yet Riku thought he could pick up this box of tea for Cloud and be out of here before it started to come down like it is now. How wrong he apparently was. Thankfully, he's standing under the awning of the shop, arms crossed, blindfold on, finger tapping against the box of tea he holds. The rain doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon and the shop has closed, leaving Riku out here in the damp without an umbrella. He sighs, head lolling to the side as he shifts his weight to one leg, contemplating the thought of just sucking it up and walking back to Cloud's in this weather. ]

It's never going to stop...

[ Maybe you're stuck under here with him. Maybe you're passing by. Maybe you have an umbrella to lend to him. Or maybe you're out enjoying the rain. Whatever the case, Riku's not looking too happy... and the frost that's come to coat the tips of his shoes is a little bit of a hint to that. ]

[ La la la he can't hear you. Not responding. Take the hint. ]

[ Fine. Riku wants to play this game? Squall doesn't mind playing this game, and by this game he means annoying him right back. Squall's been practicing with his annoying emotional magic, though the only thing that seems to help is when he has his Gunblade with him.

He pulls his Gunblade out of nowhere and slams it to the ground causing a small wall of ice to start forming in front of Riku. ]

[ Coming to stop when the ice forms in front of him, Riku kisses his teeth as he stares to it slowly form, a result of this world he figures... unless Squall happens to harbor the power of ice much as he does with darkness.

It's after a moment that he stretches an arm out to his side and his blade, Soul Eater, appears within the palm of his hand. ]

Pretty sure Sora would be mad at me for beating up his boyfriend.

[ Still his back remains facing Squall, fingers clenching around the hilt of his blade, hating the fact that he actually had to use that word. ]

So take my advice when I say to leave me alone.

I'm not afraid of your threats. And I'm not going to run away with my tail between my legs because you want to act like a child.

[ he does however shoo his chocobo chick off his shoulder so she will be out of danger. ]

Takes one to know one, doesn't it?

[ A childish remark but, whatever, this is annoying and he just wants to be left alone. ]

Leave me alone.

I won't until you stop running.

I'm standing right here aren't I?

Then come at me.

Thought you were going to leave me alone.

Not until we settle this. Whatever this is.

[ Stop being so frustrating, Squall. ]

I already told you! I'm not going to beat you up and make Sora unhappy.

[ No. ]

So you'd rather avoid me and make Sora unhappy instead?

[ YES.

But the mention of Sora being unhappy seems to annoy Riku and he faces Squall with an irritated expression on his face. ]

For the last time- leave me alone.

For the last time. I won't.

[ It's with a crack of thunder that Riku grits his teeth and, with his hand held out, a blast of Dark Firaga - a dark flame - shoots itself towards Squall. ]

[ Squall let out a surprised noise and dives out of the way. ]

[ That's more or less exactly what Riku wanted to have happen because

he books it while Squall's distracted with the whole avoiding the dark flame. ]

[ Squall lets out a grunt as he slowly stands up when he realizes Riku just took off running. ]

....! Sonofa--

[ He hooks his gunblade to his back and takes off running after RIku. ]

[ This guy doesn't know when to call it quits, does he?

It's with a hop over a fence that Riku takes to running into the forest then, figuring it will give him more shelter and a means to lose Squall among the trees. ]

[ Squall hops over the fence as well, charging into the forest. This was a stupid idea on his part. A forest? He knows how easy it was to lose someone in a forest, someone who didnt want to be found. Squall let out a frustrated noise as he looked around, taking careful steps in case he could hear Riku somewhere. ]

[ This impromptu game of hide and seek is definitely not anything that Riku had planned to partake in today and it's why he's doing his best to ensure that he can successfully lose or dissuade Squall from pursuing him further. Which is why he's standing behind a tree with his back to it, quiet and still, waiting for Squall to simply give up. ]

[ Squall continued walking about, turning his head quickly at the sound of anything, even an animal skittering across the trees. After a while Squall just leans against one of the nearby trees letting out a soft sound of annoyance.]

I'm just trying to help. Why is that so difficult to accept?.... Hyne, is this what dealing with me is like?

[ Riku's not about to give himself away with where he's hiding by speaking outloud and so, instead, he decides to speak to Squall through the amulets. ]

I don't need your help.

[ Squall jumped when he heard the voice and let out a frustrated sound. ]

...Fine.

[ You mean he finally got through to him? Is this a trick? ]

Then leave.
