[....This is so bizarre. Like, really bizarre. He's still trying to wrap his head around how Trunks got a sudden growth spurt, but he can take a few guesses with the whole "missing" and mentions of "leaving" bits.

He'll take a book off the top of the pile to look over and manage to open and flip through it before before he sets it on his lap and takes the rest (one or two at a time depending how big each book is), looking through the covers. Yeah. He's cracking a smile and definitely amused.]

Somehow I'm not surprised—and you know what I'm going to say next. Giving a daemon something about knights it's pretty funny.

[But he's not dismissing them, instead picking one that seemed interesting and flipping through it.]

Still, I am surprised you actually remembered. I'm guessing you went back to your world and you're... How old are you now?

[ Yeah, bizarre is a pretty good way to phrase it, especially since it still feels like it's been years for him since he left this world and not a matter of days. Add that with the whole memories of this world forcing their way back into your head and yeah, it's been a wild few days since he came back. ]

[ He says that as he sets the last couple of books near the daemon's leg on the bed. ]

So... kinda aged about seventeen years.

[ Again, a little bizarre, yeah. ]

It's... been an adjustment, coming back here.

[Annnd he's just going to almost drop the book he was looking through.]

[ Cue burying his face in his hand because why was he like that as a kid, goddammit younger self. ]

[Even though they hadn't been together for a long time or even all that much, Trunks just gave Rokurou a gold mind of crap to mess with him.]

[ And he smiles a little before he comes to cross his arms on the back of the chair and drops his chin to them, staring down to the floor. ]

I'm glad you're still here. Even if it's been a few days technically, it feels like years for me.

[Well now instead of cute it sounds like he has to report to his mom or something.]

[ He might huff a little at that before he straightens up some and slouches over the back of the chair, arms dangling there with his pebble wrapped in the leather cord held between his fingers. ]

Partly. And because it has been a while—I wouldn't hold it against you if you didn't even remember me at all. [Especially since that's apparently what happened with him.

Oh, I died. Pretty much as soon as I got back.

[ To which he smiles a little as he looks up to the daemon. ]

But I was revived after along with everyone else.

[ Resting his chin on the back of the chair, he hums a little then. ]

Things were better after that for a long time. It was nice.

[ Especially since things are really bad back home now and it's pretty much game over but, hey, this world brought him here right before he was to die again maybe? ]

Okay you can't just say all of that and not explain. What the hell happened?

[ He probably said that a little too nonchalantly, right?

He laughs a little and hangs his head for a moment, strands of purple falling in front of his face before he looks back up and brushes them back. ]

Yeah, that guy I was telling you about before I left here? He sorta the blew the planet up and I was on it when it went.

[ Holding the back of the chair, he looks up to the ceiling. ]

I don't really remember it because I was unconscious when it happened. But they brought my dad back to take out the guy alongside Goku and then we were all revived after they destroyed him.

Blew...up the plan...what...

[Rokurou is just going to stare at Trunks wide-eyed, the light from a nearby lamp flickering in a haphazard fashion as his mind tries to wrap around this until a bulb actually pops. Yes, that's right. That was a symbolic gesture of his brain exploding trying to comprehend this.

But it does snap him out of his daze and he just rubs his forehead.]

So...there was someone who destroyed an entire planet...and then everyone was someone revived.....?

[ Glancing over to the exploding light bulb, Trunks blinks at first then comes to smile a little as he looks over to Rokurou. ]

Yeah, I know it sounds pretty crazy.

[ Softly, he allows a bit of laughter to leave his lips before he sighs again and comes to stand, feeling like he needs to walk a little around the room. ]

Back where I'm from, we have these things called dragon balls. You collect all seven of them and a dragon appears [ oh is this where his love of dragons/Thras comes from? maybe... ] to grant you a wish. Well, those ones kinda blew up with the planet when that happened but they were able to get the original dragon balls from Namek and use those to revive everyone who had lost their lives because of this guy.

[ Which? Included him and he stops at the foot of the bed, arms crossed. ]

It's... not as complicated as it sounds. Then again, I'm used to it so maybe it just makes sense to me.

Yeah, the concept of there actually being someone strong enough to destroy an entire planet and then something else with enough power to bring everyone back to life is a bit out of my league.

[Just a bit. But...man. As mind (and light bulb) blowing as this is, he also recognizes that this is a lot of heavy stuff. And given that Trunks was only seven at the time...

He just shakes his head and sighs.]

But guess it worked out. What changed that made it so you guys could win after that?

Yeah, the sort of guys we have to deal with have blown up planets before like it's nothing.

[ Does this lend a hint as to how powerful Trunks himself really is if he can tango with these kinds of guys? WAS HE TRULY HOLDING BACK FROM ROKUROU ALL THOSE TIMES AS A KID?? A mystery. ]

My dad and Goku are probably the strongest guys in our galaxy. [ Can't say universe since that's a whole different timeline and a bunch of universes he doesn't know about. ] When they actually work together they're capable of some pretty amazing stuff.

[ He smiles a little, coming around to the side of Rokurou's bed then. ]

Things just kinda went quiet after that for awhile. Well, until recently.

[It does bring up that possibility... It also makes Rokurou want to train harder so that he could one day go toe to toe with these guys. Oh yeah, he'd definitely get his ass handed to him 100000x over, but that's fine. The good fight is all that matters.]

I knew you were a tough little fighter, but guess you weren't just all talk. [A light laugh. But hum, interesting.]

And by "recently," let me guess. Someone else bent on destroying the planet.

[ There's a slight shift in his demeanor when the daemon claims such a thing, a smile being the only thing he gives, if even a little on the sad side and with his gaze drifting from Rokurou. ]

You said you'd be out of here at the end of the week, right?

[ He walks around the bed to gather up those books and neatly pile them together for Rokurou. ]

Not going to be shipped off to jail or something?

[Given the lack of answer, he's taking that as a yes. Damn, Trunks. He thought his world was bad, and he's heard of others. But yours? Might take the cake (and destroy it, too). So he doesn't press into it, instead just letting Trunks do what he wants and answering his question.]

No jail time for me it seems—although if I weren't so badly injured I would have. Once I'm out I still have work to do, though. At least a month's worth of service and whatever else they tell me to do, most likely to help rebuild what I helped destroy. I got off surprisingly light considering, but guess they didn't think my support was a heinous as the masterminds. [Helps that he didn't actually kill anyone—which was a miracle even if he never planned on it to begin with.] They have my swords until the end, though.

[Sigh.]

[ Probably for the best since it's not exactly anything he's eager to talk about, though he knows it's going to weigh on him; he returned to this world pretty beat up after all.

Sliding his hands into his pockets, he stands there next to the bed. ]

Man, that's gotta suck for you.

[ Not having his swords, he means, and he might just smile a little sympathetically at that. ]

What do you plan to do in the meantime for that? You still have a place to stay?

[ A pause, he sighs. ]

I know things are pretty bad for a lot of us right now... shops getting vandalized and people getting thrown out of their apartments. The Arehtei aren't really talking to us either so I heard.

[ He hums a bit, looking to the floor. ]

I'm going to try and contact Thras... make sure he's ok. I'd like to think we're close enough that he won't rebuff me, but... guess we'll see.

[Eventually it's something Trunks will need to talk about, though with whom is a different matter altogether. But if he ever needs an outsider's ear, the daemon is surprisingly good for it.

...But uh. Those are actually some pretty good questions.]

I'm going to have to check about the Van Airtia. I know it was kept away from the action, but whether they managed to stay away from law enforcement afterwards or not is a different story. If they're as good of a crew as they like to boast themselves to be, then I'll probably be heading back there. [And even if he could technically arm himself to the teeth with all the weapons he has there, it's not the same, not without Kurogane on his back. Plus he's. Actually going to play nice. Not only because Kurogane is at stake, but given the current situation, not exactly the time to be a daemon rebel.] Otherwise I could probably bunk with Eleanor and Laphicet.

[A small grin.] Why, were you gonna offer your place if I didn't?

[And then it fades.]

But I haven't talked with Thras, either, and he hasn't tried to scold me yet. You might have luck, though. After all, you're his Knight and all.
