But he does notice that judgemental look on your face. Because no, you still do not have any right to judge a god. Even when that god is going to make some very questionable lifechoices in his future.]
You are in no place to judge me. [The tone in his voice becomes lower now and much more dangerous.] These memories she gave me are incomplete. Mere fragments of a future that supposed to be mine. [He is taking a step closer now.]
Worry not. I have my suspicions. [The only option is that he attacked all the Kais. All of them. And with wiping them out he would wipe out their linked God of Destruction. And that would be logic when it came to the choice to take Goku's body.] Who knows me better than I do, not? [And he knows he is all about the details, he dislikes it when things are messy and do not follow structure. He cannot turn into someone stupid and reckless...]
no subject
Man, you sure like to think you're tough shit, don't you?
[ He's used to these types of people in board meetings, nevermind every other "bad guy" who's stepped foot on Earth thinking they can call the shots. ]
I'm gonna spoil something for you: you're never going to win. No matter what you do, no matter how many lives you claim in your so-called road to justice. You will always be stopped and I don't need to see fragments of your future to know that.
no subject
And he has experienced Goku.]
Probably. [Those words do not much to him. If he had to perish to make sure his justice would prevail, he would.] You filthy mortals take pride into killing a god, is it not? You just do not want to be confronted with your shortcomings, your mistakes. And you sure do not want to be judged for them and you do not expect to be judged either, because of all these good deeds you do. Protecting one another, wanting do die to save another's life, share food. These deeds benefit your own conscience, not that of the planet you live on or the universe you are a part of.
[Zamasu shakes his head.]
I know my words fall against deaf ears. You do you see them as something that applies to you. After all, you are a good mortal, one who saves precious children and wishes to cure the sick and what not.
[He takes a step back.]
And in your eyes that makes everything you do just and right. You cannot understand why such acts are worthy of a god's anger...
[Zamasu realizes that he is rambling a bit and that is okay, really. He knows he truly needs that to keep everything straight in his head. To assess this situation and to judge correctly. Unfortunately, for a god big on justice, Zamasu is awful at the actual judging.]
Are you going to attack me now? Or should I attack you and prove that this future is not as far away as you might think?
no subject
[ While he doesn't make any movement to attack, he is very aware of Zamasu and his own movements, allowing a hand to curl into a fist at his side. ]
I wouldn't recommend it unless you're looking to get beat down, so-called god or not.
[ Truth be told, he doesn't know what sort of strength or abilities Zamasu might have but when has that ever stopped a Saiyan from rising to a challenge? ]
no subject
[For a moment there is some hesitation in his movements. This boy had never meant him any harm. All he has done is being a foolish child who offered him candy and worried about his loneliness.
But the child was gone and if he hadn't told this mature version of him about the future, the other mortals would have done so. And he sees him curling his hand into a fist.]
It is dangerous to be so casual about challenging a god. [Zamasu has absolutely no idea how strong this version of Trunks is.] It is even more dangerous to assume that I am not a god. Do you truly wish to find out? Have you ever experienced a god's justice like your other self did? I have seen it. I have seen all the dead bodies, the destruction. [There is a dangerous smile around his face now.] And I have been the one responsible for it.
no subject
However.
With everything that has happened back home, with the destruction that's taking place and it very well being the end for them all, to think that the same could possibly be said for his future self (and Mai, in that case) and all because of this fucking guy right here... it has his energy slowly begin to rise, eyes of blue narrow, and those feelings of anger gently bubbling their way to the surface, allowing the air to grow thick and hot around them.
Especially because of that smile that he wears, as if proud of the deaths and destruction that he's causing to his future self's timeline. ]
If he can't fix it then maybe I can!
[ And it's on the can, that ends up being the one word shouted, that he quickly moves from his spot, fist curled, ready to connect with Zamasu's face. ]
no subject
While the heat around them rises he does not flinch, he merely straightens his back.]
You cannot.
[Because, yes, it is still impressive. But nowhere as powerful as that of the other Trunks. This is something Zamasu can handle.
Right before Trunks' fist comes in contact with his face, he avoids it quickly and manages to grab hold of the other's arm with both hands.]
It is a shame. For a mortal child you were rather tolerable. [And without any further ado he moves to toss you in the general direction of some market stands, Trunks.]
no subject
But no. He can't let this happen here, even with their being more of the outskirts of the market, with all that's happened with the attacks on Sosyne, he can't let any others suffer or come to fear them and so, he quickly flips himself upright and zips around to try and come up behind Zamasu, hopefully to land a kick to his back and push him out of the general vicinity and into the dirt and forest. ]
no subject
Too slow.
[The first thing that comes at him is Trunk's foot and, really, all he has to do is hop to the left and grab his ankle, ready to swing him back to where he came from.
No need to damage a forest when there were mortals far more deserving of damage.]
no subject
Dad is so gonna kill him for this if he ever finds out.
But it's with a spike in power that lavender flashes to gold and blue blazes to green, tapping into his super saiyan strength with an angry shout before he pushes off from his spot much faster than before and comes at Zamasu straight on with the intention of grabbing him by the shirt(??) collar. ]
no subject
And finally, there it is. That yellow glow. That burst of power these Saiyans seem to be able to tap into. Still, it is not as powerful as that of Goku or the other version of Trunks. When Trunks comes at him he is way faster and before he knows it there's a hand getting hold of his collar.
Unforgivable.]
A mortal as weak as you is not even allowed to lay a hand on me.
[Zamasu's face is full of pure and unbridled hate and he decides to handle this as quick as possible. After all, this could easily attract the other Trunks.
While flying backwards with a hand holding his collar he moves to stab Trunks through his shoulder. Close to the heart, but not close enough to be deadly. The blade he uses isn't an actual blade but one made of his own ki, coming from one of his hands.]
no subject
Everything seems to somehow happen a little too quickly for him and before he can throw another punch Zamasu's way, he's stopped... pain shooting through him and eyes going wide in confusion. As far as knew, Zamasu didn't have any (visible) weapons on him and yet, looking down, there's a blade of some sort punched through his shoulder.
Blond falls to lavender, green becoming blue, and that shining golden aura disappearing around him as he reaches up to grab at that wrist that has that blade shoved through his shoulder. It's hot, it hurts, and he's so angry right now that he can't help but grin a little to Zamasu. ]
You're still gonna lose.
no subject
[The look in Zamasu's eyes is cold and they keep shifting from Trunks' face to the injury he caused. Really, he could twist his hand and make the wound worse. And he could pierce this mortal's heart. It would only take a couple of seconds and it would only be just to do so.
But he doesn't. Not now he knows about his future.
The ki blade disappears as quickly as it came and finally he pushes himself away from the other, using both of his feet to slam poor Trunks into the ground while he flies upwards.]
Get stronger. Maybe next you do not need your mortal friends to do the work for you.
[After those words he turns and flies off and, holy shit, he wishes Gowasu was here.]
no subject
But when Zamasu pulls the blade from his shoulder and kicks him down to the ground, he bites back a cry of pain as he clutches at his shoulder with his other hand because... ow? Though despite the pain he feels pulsing in his shoulder so close to his heart, it's those blue eyes that narrow dangerously low at the retreating figure drifting within the sky. ]
Coward!
[ He shouts that out as he falls back to lay against the ground for a moment before he stumbles to try and get to his feet, fingers pressing at his shoulder to try and numb the pain somehow. Dad would be... so disappointed in him. ]
Gettin' tired of chasing Zamasu around :[
There were only so many reasons any of them would transform here, after all.
He spots Gohan in the air too, attention obviously drawn in the same way, and headed in the same direction.
There's anger simmering in the pit of his stomach as his feet touch ground, his suspicions fairly well, if circumstantially, proven by the smoking wound in Trunks' shoulder. Zamasu had tried the same trick on him, after all, if less successfully. He can't sense the Kai around, for obvious reasons, but he seems to have left.
He quietly steps to his other-self's side, helping him to stand up and supporting his weight, looking closely at the wound. It's not really bleeding, but has to hurt all the same.]
no subject
Running into the older Trunks on the way, he landed next to the duo at the scene. Unfortunately, he didn't have the same expertise with Zamasu and his actions that Trunks did, he couldn't draw conclusions here.]
Trunks! What happened to you?
[The question was directed at either of them, really. Whoever could give him the answer. His mind was racing with possibilities, none of them, every one of them triggering his anger, sparks of lightning crackling around him.]
no subject
To be blunt, I got beat up.
[ As if that wasn't stating the obvious and he comes to shift a little to better rest against his future self in a way that won't cause him to hiss in pain again. ]
That kai from your timeline... [ Referring to his future self, of course. ] ...guess he didn't like that I didn't fancy his speech on justice.
no subject
If Zamasu wants to insist mortals are hateful and violent, the look on Trunks' face makes it very obvious he wants to demonstrate exactly how violent they can be.]
He probably ran when he sensed us. He knows I can overpower him.
no subject
He looks at the younger Trunks, sizing up the wound he received, and then at the older Trunks, the righteous fury spelled plainly across his face.]
Trunks. [He's talking to the older one now. He can't have you getting into another fight with him.] Get him to safety. If you think he's needs healing, stop at my house. Mushi'll fix him up quick.
[He looks off to the sky now. He couldn't have gotten too far yet. And even if he has... He won't be able to stay hidden for long. Not from Gohan.
His hand curls tightly into a fist.]
I'm going after him. [The intensity behind that last statement suggests he's going alone, so don't think of trying to tag along. You might be twice his age but that doesn't mean shit to him right now.]
no subject
[He will bow to your judgement for now, because he knows you and your strength. But he is not about to let anyone else get hurt.
Still, he knows that, probably, the main reason Zamasu attacked (or provoked) his other-self is...well, the fights between the two of them.
To Trunks, then:]
Are you up to flying?
no subject
...Getting into a fight with Zamasu only continues to prove to him, in his own mind, that he's right about "mortals".]
I'll let you know what I find out.
[With that, a white aura of energy flares up around him, and he takes off into the air. He had searching to do.]
no subject
[ Whether or not that needs to be said, he still says it as he watches the other take off to the sky in search of the kai. With it only just being himself and his future self then, he glances to him and offers a weak smile. ]
Yeah, sure. I've had worse than this after all.
[ At least... he's pretty sure he has but man does this hurt.
So, he pulls away from his future self and, shakily so, lifts himself up to the sky.
Slowly.
Very very slowly. ]
