At the question, she thinks for a moment before speaking up again.]

I...I've wondered if it'd be best if I learned defensively first. I'm not looking to pick fights; I just want to be able to defend myself if it comes to it. If that makes sense.

[Her hand rests on her shoulder. It's still healing a multi-color bruised shaped like a boot. It's a reminder of why she's here.]

[ He's got to be cool and moody, Naminé. Sheesh.

Her request, however, has Riku nod. Honestly? It's what he would have gone with himself for teaching her. Defense is always important to know and sometimes more important than attacking for most situations. ]

It does. It's what I pretty much had in mind for you anyway. Not that I won't teach you a couple things if you want.

[ Quick and easy attacks, things that could be used as distractions. ]

[Naminé exhales softly at that and nods. Good. She's glad they're on the same page. She trusts Riku's thought process on it too.]

I told Arden. (Although that's still be threaded.) And that's it. Of course Sora knows about the keyblade but not the training. That's it though.

[ Another nod, Riku holds his hand out and allows his own blade to appear within the palm of his hand. Drawing it down to rest at his side, Riku looks to Naminé then. ]

I'll still keep this between us if that's what you'd prefer.

[Naminé laughs nervously.]

Maybe it'll be okay to talk about it. I don't think it can stay a secret for much longer.

[The more people who know the more likely word will get around. Good friends or not; that's just how it is. As Riku summons his keyblade, the girl goes to summon her. A light flickers in front of her like a lighter running out fuel before it finally forms in her hand.]

What do you want to do?

[ Well, whatever she prefers. It's not like Riku is going to go out of his way to broadcast this over the amulets or something. As for her question, he comes to tap the tip of his keyblade down against the ground and cocks his head to the side as he thoughtfully considers that question. ]

I guess you should show me what you can do with that so far. You know, if you're not afraid to attack me.

You... w-want me to attack you? What if I hurt you?

[The likelihood of that is very, very likely to not happen of course, but the girl can't help but be nervous about it. She doesn't want to hurt her friend by mistake.]

If you don't mind I-I can try I guess.

I promise I won't let you hurt me.

[ And he says that with what sounds like a bit of soft laughter under his breath, a shake of his head given after. He's not about to taunt her like he would Sora. However.... ]

But... if you don't attack me, I guess that means you're not really serious about this.

N-No! [Naminé is pretty quick to respond to that; she almost even surprises herself when she does it.] I want to learn... I promise.

[It's just the idea of accidentally hurting him... she tries to shake it off. Riku can handle himself no matter what. If anything, she feels this'll probably be more embarrassing for her than anything...

The girl raises her keyblade and takes a deep breath. She lets out a small yell as she runs forward and tries to strike down on him with it.]

[ When Naminé approaches him as quickly as she does, Riku can't help but smile a little at that determination she wears. It's good... and when that keyblade swings itself down, Riku holds his own up with one hand and blocks the attack, keeping Naminé's steady against his own. ]

First thing you should know is to never be obvious with your attacks, especially ones that can be deflected without much effort.

[ To which he pushes back Naminé's keyblade a little roughly, though ensures it's not enough to accidentally push her back or anything. ]

Not unless you're using it as a distraction.

[Naminé isn't really surprised at all he can block her attack so easily. It's almost silly honestly. She can't even push him back a little. The girl does listen carefull, though, and nods as she speaks. His push back makes her stumble a little, but she catches herself.]
