Ventus

[ Come the weekend, Riku finishes his shift at work a little before seven and takes a few moments to do the usual routine of removing his cat ears and tucking them away safely before punching out for the evening. With his jacket slung over his shoulder, he gives the time another glance before he decides to head outside the cafe and wait for the blond who he had asked to meet here for this... outing of theirs and while Riku is forever the type to remain cool and calm in almost every situation (to the point where you wonder if he's feeling anything at all), he can't help but feel something on the inside, though he's not exactly sure what, as he leans there against the wall, waiting for Ventus to meet him here. ]

Riku!

[Ventus greets Riku happily as soon as he notices the other teen.

He's bright and cheery, eyes practically shining with mirth as he waves at him.]

[shadowedheart]

[ There's a smile that gently touches Riku's lips when he spots the blond and gives a quick sort of wave back himself. Yeah... that was kind of awkward. Tucking that hand back in his pocket now. ]

Hey, glad you could make it.

[ Pausing, he pushes himself away from the wall. ]

You ready then?

[brokenlight]

[His lips tugs up into an amused smile at that.]

Ready when you are.

[Although, he does eye the cafe curiously.]

Why did you want to meet at this place specifically?

[shadowedheart]

[ How to go about this... does he tell Ven the truth? Or does he just chalk it up to it being relatively close to where he's taking him? ]

I work here.

[ Might as well just admit it. ]

Come on, this way.

[ He keeps rather close to Ventus but also a little ahead of him so that he can lead the blond to where he wants to take him. Because, yes, it's a surprise. ]

Really? For how long?

[Ventus looks curious as he follows after Riku.]

Not very long. About a month or so.

[ He finds himself glancing over to Ventus then. ]

What do you think?

[brokenlight]

[He tilts his head.]

Can't tell you since I haven't actually seen you working, but it seems like a nice place.

[shadowedheart]

[ it's because you haven't seen him in those cat ears, Ven. ]

Yeah, it's not bad.

[ Smiling a bit, he glances to Ventus then. ]

Are you hungry? Did you want to pick anything up before we get there?

Naminé

[ If he's to be honest, he's still not entirely sure about all of this... about the whole Naminé wanting him, of all people, to train her with her Keyblade. However, after what had happened with the arrival of Vanitas and despite Naminé being fine, perhaps it's best that they go over this, lest that fake ever try something like that again with her.

So, with hands shoved in his pockets, he waits at the park where he told Naminé to meet him and looks up to the sky before he tilts his head over in her direction when he senses her approaching. ]

You can still back out of this if you want, you know. Get someone better.

[Today is the day at last. Naminé had woken up with nervous energy that she didn't quite know what to do with. Her training with Riku... she didn't know what to expect. She had never had any sort of combat training before, and she was scared she wouldn't be good enough for any of this. But... she still had to try right?

So the girl goes over to meet up with him when it's time. She's smiling nervously as she approaches him.]

You're the one I wanted... so that's why I asked you.

[And, really, she wants to learn now more than ever. She needs to. It's only a matter of time before Vanitas turns up again, and Naminé knows she might not be so lucky next time...

[ There's a part of Riku that can't help but feel... flattered? Touched? Relieved even? That she stands so firm with her decision to go with him of all people for this and there might just be the touch of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Of course, he does his best to hide that a little because, you know, Riku being Riku.

Coming to turn to her, blindfold worn as always, he looks to the girl with a nod then. To be honest? It's not exactly like he's ever trained someone before so this is just as new for him as it is for her. ]

Is there something you want to learn first? Something more important for you?

[thememorywitch]

[You can smile Riku; you're allowed.

At the question, she thinks for a moment before speaking up again.]

I...I've wondered if it'd be best if I learned defensively first. I'm not looking to pick fights; I just want to be able to defend myself if it comes to it. If that makes sense.

[Her hand rests on her shoulder. It's still healing a multi-color bruised shaped like a boot. It's a reminder of why she's here.]

[ He's got to be cool and moody, Naminé. Sheesh.

Her request, however, has Riku nod. Honestly? It's what he would have gone with himself for teaching her. Defense is always important to know and sometimes more important than attacking for most situations. ]

It does. It's what I pretty much had in mind for you anyway. Not that I won't teach you a couple things if you want.

[ Quick and easy attacks, things that could be used as distractions. ]

Just for my own curiosity... does anyone else know about this?

[ They hadn't when they last spoke regarding this but, well, it's been a little time since that conversation. ]

[Naminé exhales softly at that and nods. Good. She's glad they're on the same page. She trusts Riku's thought process on it too.]

I told Arden. (Although that's still be threaded.) And that's it. Of course Sora knows about the keyblade but not the training. That's it though.

Alright.

[ Another nod, Riku holds his hand out and allows his own blade to appear within the palm of his hand. Drawing it down to rest at his side, Riku looks to Naminé then. ]

I'll still keep this between us if that's what you'd prefer.

[thememorywitch]

[Naminé laughs nervously.]

Maybe it'll be okay to talk about it. I don't think it can stay a secret for much longer.

[The more people who know the more likely word will get around. Good friends or not; that's just how it is. As Riku summons his keyblade, the girl goes to summon her. A light flickers in front of her like a lighter running out fuel before it finally forms in her hand.]

What do you want to do?

[As usual things have been up and down and sideways hectic for everyone. With the flower festival said and done with Sora decides he needs to get back into his usual routine of things which also includes bothering Riku.

Besides, he’s got a few things he needs to say to Riku. After certain conversations with friends, he’s come to realize that he might owe Riku a bit of an apology.

So, he seeks him out and where he finds Riku he’ll just jump on him from behind with arms going around him (and maybe fingers casually trying to tug on that blindfold-- casually).]

Riku!

[ Sora... no. You can't take the blindfold off.

The jumping on him from behind is, well, typical of the other and really, Riku should have expected such a thing. However, considering he had been lost in thought on his way leaving work for the day, the surprise attack from one overeager Sora has caught him off guard and nearly has him topple over. Thankfully, he doesn't. Fingers wrap around a wrist and he shoots Sora a look from behind that blindfold before he jerks his head away. ]

I'm not going back there to get you free ice cream if this is what this is about.

[oathkeeper]

[Good thing that look Sora gets from Riku doesn't seem to phase him at all. Maybe because of the blindfold or maybe because Sora chooses to ignore it? Who knows! Sora just continues to hang off Riku where he can and smiles up at his best friend.]

Are you done work, then? Come on, let's hang out.

[Riku better not have anything better to do than hang with him!]

[ Come on, let's hang out. Words that, once upon a time, Riku didn't think he would ever hear from Sora again... thanks to him, of course. ]

Don't have anyone else to hang out with?

[ Some people who shall remain nameless, you got it. ]

[Riku, why you gotta be like that. Sora frowns for a split second before he jostles Riku.]

I don't know anyone else named Riku, do I??

[He pulls on Riku's arm.] Come on!

[ And Riku just lets himself be pulled. It's not like he has anything else planned for the moment. ]

Where are we going?

Anywhere! Walking.

[He doesn't really have a destination in mind right this second.]

I wanted to say sorry.

[ That figures and yet, Riku complies, walking alongside Sora. When he speaks up, however, the silver-haired teen can't help but glance to Sora out of the corner of his eye. An apology just seems so... random? ]
