Uh... are you sure? It must be pretty far since I haven't seen you pop up yet.
no subject
Truly now? You have not met me at all? [He leans forward a little, invading Trunks' private space.] Is this your idea of a joke, filthy mortal?
no subject
Uh, nope. Not a joke and I haven't met you and... it's been a long time.
no subject
You dare to judge me for these acts and now you deny that they have ever happened. That is a low joke, even for a mortal. [There is smoke rising from underneath his feet and, oh, how every fiber in his being wants a rematch right now.]
no subject
Right, so I'm guessing you must have met the other me and exchanged words or something 'cause I'm pretty sure I've never judged you for... whatever it is you're going on about.
no subject
Other me. There were two again. And the smaller one had been missing. A very deep frown appears on Zamasu's face for a second before he manages to calm down a little.]
You have been the smaller one. [The one that gave him a bag of sweets and followed him around even when he did not want it at all. And he made him a promise didn't he?...]
no subject
[ The whole disappearing and reappearing... older, apparently. ]
no subject
Finally he manages to shake those questions off.]
And have you been aware of this? [Trunks looks slightly younger than the other.] Is this what you wanted?
[Did you become what you wanted to be?]
no subject
[ A beat. ]
I didn't even ask to come back here honestly. Seems like we get no choice there.
[ Which is... something, that's for sure. ]
no subject
[Then...if he would go back home he would not remember anything about this but could return as that other Zamasu? The one he has seen in Mai's memories? The questions he has about this build up inside of him and for a moment he seems be lost in thoughts.]
no subject
[ And while he hadn't been able to do much in the way of help, to see such chaos spread and those who have been brought here try to kill one of the gods of this world... yeah. ]
no subject
He would, yet he is afraid it that this future is something he cannot outrun.
Should mortals try to kill a god? Never.
Double standards, he has them.]
Foolish. [He shakes his head shortly.] And sinful. [He takes a deep breath.] Would you have done such a thing?
no subject
No. This world isn't ours. Doesn't matter if you don't agree with how this place works.
no subject
Hmn. [That reminds him... He promised something a while back.] I do not think they have told you about me yet, am I right?
no subject
[ With his being "missing" and returning on the beat up side of things, that topic of conversation hasn't exactly come up yet. ]
no subject
That, and he has seen his future.
It would be better if he'd burn certain bridges because, well, those bridges were going to burn sooner or later anyways.]
Your other self and that whiny little woman he protects come from the same future as I do. The only difference is that to him it is his present time, to me it is my future. [And of all he has seen the only thing he finds absolutely just is the annihilation of all mortals, he does not regret that. Everything else...is a mess. As if he has dreamed his dream too early and has been too rash because of it. He wanted too much too soon.]
I have ended the lives of many mortals in many universes and that other you is one of the last ones left. [There is absolute no regret in his voice when he says that. The sight of dead bodies and proper punishment for the evil they have spread throughout universes did please him.] There are two of me. One will be looking like a man called Goku. The other looks like me. I do not know which one I will become. But I do not think I will show mercy.
[And if it would be inevitable. Time is a very complicated thing. Zamasu knows he will not stop hating mortals anytime soon, in fact, he hates them even more now. There has been a short period of time where he had hoped that they might come out and prove him wrong. But one had beat him up and the other forced him to accept her help.]
How everything will happen is still unsure to me, but I am sure that every mortal will know about my justice eventually. [He smiles because, oh boy, how righteous his justice is.] They will pay for the sins they have committed and they will perish by my hands.
[The smile on his face broadens slightly.]
A god always keeps his promises.
no subject
None of this... happens in his timeline and to hear it's with his future self, well, there it is, makes sense why he's never come across Zamasu here back home. ]
So who stops you then?
[ He asks that without even seeming to blink. ]
There's a sort of hierarchy among the kais, isn't there?
[ A beat. ]
Or is it Goku that does it?
no subject
He straightens his back a little and folds both of his hands behind his back. It is something he does very often, the only difference is that his left hand is glowing faintly now.]
The other you... [The look on his face darkens a little. He still could not entirely understand that part. Trunks sure sliced a creature in half but what he can remember of that creature...that could not be him... It looked like some sort of abomination. And after that he changed into the sky. Or the sky changed into him.] ...claims he has ended my life. [He laughs softly.] The memories that woman showed me tell a different story. For a mortal to end the life of a god...such arrogance.
[Regarding the other gods there were a lot of questions. The biggest one was about the fate of his master, Gowasu.]
There is. [But how would that be in that future? Knowing himself he would plan methodically, he would take the other gods into account and genocide would not go past Zen-oh, ever. He blinks when Trunks mentions Goku.]
No.
no subject
While he's not about to fly off the handle like certain other half-saiyans here, he's still rather guarded, aware of Zamasu here with him and he looks to him curiously. ]
And where do you fall on that hierarchy where this is allowed? Because, pretty sure it's not.
no subject
But he cannot imagine himself killing Zen-oh. Ever. Nothing could kill Zen-oh. No god, no mortal, no one. Not even Zamasu inside Goku's body. Yet, Zen-oh was nowhere to be seen intervening at all. If he truly had killed the amount of mortals they said was going to... Would he become this reckless? Doesn't he have a plan?
Would that go unnoticed? Would it pass by every god? Never. There would not be a Supreme Kai that would not take notice. The look on his face becomes a little troubled.]
Hmn. [It takes a little bit longer before he finds his composure again.] It does not matter what sort of god you are, such things are not allowed. It is wrong. [But to him, it is so very right. It is the only way to bring balance to a universe, peace to the entire cosmos.]
But to me, it is not. And it never will be. Mortals are a danger to a universe and their evil should not spread. Yet I...
[Where are the other gods?]
...do not know where the other gods will be. She has not showed me.
no subject
Arms coming to fold against his chest, he gives a rather judgmental look there for a moment. Yeah, someone clearly hasn't thought this through all the way. Shame on you, Zams, totally not impressing Mr. President right now. ]
You might want to rethink your course of action there then. 'cause from the sounds of it, you've got a pretty big hole in those plans of yours with the others more than likely intervening at some point.
[ Or you could just, you know, not try and go through with it, too. That's also a good idea. ]
no subject
But he does notice that judgemental look on your face. Because no, you still do not have any right to judge a god. Even when that god is going to make some very questionable lifechoices in his future.]
You are in no place to judge me. [The tone in his voice becomes lower now and much more dangerous.] These memories she gave me are incomplete. Mere fragments of a future that supposed to be mine. [He is taking a step closer now.]
Worry not. I have my suspicions. [The only option is that he attacked all the Kais. All of them. And with wiping them out he would wipe out their linked God of Destruction. And that would be logic when it came to the choice to take Goku's body.] Who knows me better than I do, not? [And he knows he is all about the details, he dislikes it when things are messy and do not follow structure. He cannot turn into someone stupid and reckless...]
no subject
Man, you sure like to think you're tough shit, don't you?
[ He's used to these types of people in board meetings, nevermind every other "bad guy" who's stepped foot on Earth thinking they can call the shots. ]
I'm gonna spoil something for you: you're never going to win. No matter what you do, no matter how many lives you claim in your so-called road to justice. You will always be stopped and I don't need to see fragments of your future to know that.
no subject
And he has experienced Goku.]
Probably. [Those words do not much to him. If he had to perish to make sure his justice would prevail, he would.] You filthy mortals take pride into killing a god, is it not? You just do not want to be confronted with your shortcomings, your mistakes. And you sure do not want to be judged for them and you do not expect to be judged either, because of all these good deeds you do. Protecting one another, wanting do die to save another's life, share food. These deeds benefit your own conscience, not that of the planet you live on or the universe you are a part of.
[Zamasu shakes his head.]
I know my words fall against deaf ears. You do you see them as something that applies to you. After all, you are a good mortal, one who saves precious children and wishes to cure the sick and what not.
[He takes a step back.]
And in your eyes that makes everything you do just and right. You cannot understand why such acts are worthy of a god's anger...
[Zamasu realizes that he is rambling a bit and that is okay, really. He knows he truly needs that to keep everything straight in his head. To assess this situation and to judge correctly. Unfortunately, for a god big on justice, Zamasu is awful at the actual judging.]
Are you going to attack me now? Or should I attack you and prove that this future is not as far away as you might think?
no subject
[ While he doesn't make any movement to attack, he is very aware of Zamasu and his own movements, allowing a hand to curl into a fist at his side. ]
I wouldn't recommend it unless you're looking to get beat down, so-called god or not.
[ Truth be told, he doesn't know what sort of strength or abilities Zamasu might have but when has that ever stopped a Saiyan from rising to a challenge? ]
